TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The operator of Mandalika International Circuit, Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), said that the construction of the MotoGP circuit could not be separated from the Sports and Entertainment District.
ITDC president director Abdulbar Mansoer said that his company in tandem with Vinci Construction Grands Projets (VCGP) would construct the circuit and various facilities in the area of Mandalika, West Nusa Tenggara.
“The investment value to build this district amounts to US$1 billion for 15 years,” Abdulbar told Tempo last week. The total investment he mentioned reached some Rp14.23 trillion.

Abdulbar explained that ITDC would initially build the circuit road in October 2019. Then, VCGP would continue the road paving process as based on the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) and International Automobile Federation (FIA).
According to Abdulbar, the construction of the main road and supporting facilities, such as the drainage system and the energy and telecommunication network, would take six to nine months.
As reported earlier, Mandalika International Street Circuit will host Grand Prix motorcycle racing or MotoGP in 2021. Unlike other general circuits, its concept will be a street circuit, similar to Monaco Circuit.
